|Suet||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), finley chopped|
|Molasses||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk or water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Mix together suet, molasses, and milk.
Sift flour and other dry ingredients together.
Mix with raisins and add to first mixture.
Pour into well greased mold and steam 2 hrs. or put into 6 individual molds and steam 35 min.
Serve with Hard or Foamy Sauce .
To vary, add 1 cup chopped figs, or dates, sliced citron and currants mixed, or stoned and chopped prunes in place of raisins.
