|Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Flour||2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)|
|Sugar||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Baking powder||4 Teaspoon|
|Egg||1 , well-beaten|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream the shortening, add sugar and vanilla, then well-beaten egg.
Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately with milk to first mixture.
Turn into a greased cake pan.
Bake in a slow oven of 350Â° F. for 45 min. or pour into greased individual molds and steam 1 hr.
Serve with Lemon, or Chocolate Sauce
