|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Maple syrup||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together.
Cream butter; beat in egg.
Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture.
Bring syrup to boiling point in saucepan.
Pour into greased 8-inch square baking pan.
Pour batter over syrup.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
Serve hot; garnish with whipped cream.
