Aromatic Rice Pudding
|Angostura bitters||2 Teaspoon|
|Heavy cream||1⁄2 Pint|
Combine rice, milk, sugar and salt in saucepan.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
Place pan on asbestos pad over low flame; simmer very slowly, uncovered, for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes or until thick.
Stir occasionally during cooking.
Turn heat off; stir in bitters.
Let pudding cool in pan.
Chill in refrigerator.
Whip cream until stiff; fold into rice pudding mixture.
Spoon pudding into individual dessert dishes.
Garnish each' serving with maraschino cherry if desired.
