Ingredients
  Stoned raisins 1⁄2 Pound (225 Gram)
  Seedless raisins 1⁄2 Pound (225 Gram)
  Currants 1⁄2 Pound (225 Gram)
  Sultanas 1⁄2 Pound (225 Gram)
  Mixed peel 4 Ounce (115 Gram)
  Barbados sugar 1⁄2 Pound (225 Gram)
  Grated nutmeg 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pudding rice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Breadcrumbs 6 Ounce
  Chopped almonds 2 Ounce (55 Gram)
  Vegetable suet 1⁄2 Pound (225 Gram)
  Wholemeal flour 2 Ounce (55 Gram)
  Orange juice 1⁄2 Pint (285 Milliliter)
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Put washed and dried fruits into a large bowl along with chopped peel, sugar, spices, breadcrumbs, nuts, fat and flour

MAKING
2. Stir in enough orange juice to moisten, and allow to stand overnight
3. Next day, if necessary, add a little extra moisture, juice or spirits as desired
4. Pack tightly into a greased basin, cover with greased greaseproof paper or cooking foil and a cloth
5. Steam for 8 hours
6. Also a further good steaming of 2 to 3 hours on the day it is to be served will improve the flavour

SERVING
7. Serve with concentrated soya milk or cream

TIPS
If preferred, a custard can be made with a vegetable milk.
