|Cherries||1 Cup (16 tbs), drained|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Hot cherry juice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1. In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, butter and milk to form a dough.
2. In a bowl, mix canned cherries, sugar, cherry juice, butter and mix well mashing cherries coarsely.
3. In a greased 4x8-inch pan, press in the dough, and evenly spread the cherry mixture.
4. In a preheated oven, bake at 250 degrees centigrade for about 45 minutes until dough rises up through cherries and is thoroughly cooked.
5. Serve warm.
