The taste of this very Steamed Butterscotch Bread Pudding recipe has played on my senses so much that I seldom consider any other dessert recipe. This Steamed Butterscotch Bread Pudding makes a compelling Dessert for most party meals. Try it and feel free to pitch in suggested improvements or variations.
Ingredients
  Buttered bread slices 4
  Dark brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Raisins 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Eggs 2 Small
  Milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Butter 1 Teaspoon (For greasing)
Directions

Butter 2-quart steamer or top of double boiler well.
Cut bread into small uniform cubes.
Place sugar in steamer; arrange bread on sugar.
Sprinkle with raisins.
Beat eggs; add milk, vanilla and salt.
Pour over bread.
Cover; steam for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Turn out carefully into large deep dish; serve warm.
