Steamed Butterscotch Bread Pudding
|Buttered bread slices||4|
|Dark brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter||1 Teaspoon (For greasing)|
Butter 2-quart steamer or top of double boiler well.
Cut bread into small uniform cubes.
Place sugar in steamer; arrange bread on sugar.
Sprinkle with raisins.
Beat eggs; add milk, vanilla and salt.
Pour over bread.
Cover; steam for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Turn out carefully into large deep dish; serve warm.
