Steamed Syrup Pudding
|Custard powder||2 Tablespoon|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||3 Teaspoon|
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Take out 2'tblspns, from the flour and re- place it with the custard powder.
This makes the pudding a nice yellow colour.
Sift the flour with the baking powder and the salt.
Rub in the butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Add the sugar and mix well with the milk.
Make it of a dropping consistency, and not too wet.
Then grease a basin well and flour it.
Put syrup into basin, then drop the mixture on top.
Cover and steam for about 3 hours.
Test after 21/2-hrs. by pricking with a steel needle.
