Quick Maple Pudding

Ingredients
  Maple syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Shortening 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Egg 1
  Sifted cake flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Heat maple syrupto boiling and pour into greased baking dish.
Cream shortening, add sugar and cream together until fluffy.
Add beaten egg and mix well.
Sift fiour, baking powder and salt together and add alternately with milk, in small amounts, beating well after each addition.
Pour into hot syrupand bake in hot oven (400°F.) about 25 minutes.
Turn out onto serving plate and garnish with chopped nuts.
Serve with Sauce, Serves 4.
