Christmas Pudding

Ingredients
For hard sauce
  Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Boiling water 1 Teaspoon
  Confectioners sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Lemon extract/Sherry 1 Teaspoon
  Fresh orange juice To Taste
  Grated orange rind To Taste
  Whipped cream 2 Tablespoon
For pudding
  White bread loaf 3⁄4
  Milk 1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)
  Eggs 4 , beaten
  Packed brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Ground suet 2 Tablespoon (Rounded)
  Citron 5 Ounce, ground
  Nutmeg 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Mace 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Raisins 11 1⁄4 Ounce (3/4 Of 15 Ounce Package)
  Currants 8 1⁄4 Ounce (3/4 Of A 11 Ounce Package)
  Lemon 1 , rind grated
Directions

To make the hard sauce: Combine butter, boiling water, confectioners' sugar, lemon extract, orange juice and orange rind in double boiler; mix well.
Cook over boiling water until blended, stirring constantly.
Stir in whipped cream just before serving.
To make the pudding: Soak bread in milk in bowl until soft.
Add eggs, brown sugar, suet, citron, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, mace, raisins, currants and lemon rind; mix well.
Spoon into pudding mold.
Steam in 2-quart steamer for 3 1/2 hours.
Store, tightly covered, in cool place.
Serve with hard sauce.
