|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Sifted flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
Add beaten egg.
Sift remaining dry ingredients together; add alternately with milk in small amounts, mixing well after each addition.
Beat thoroughly and pour into greased pan.
Steam about 45 minutes and serve hot with Brown Sugar Sauce.
