Basic Bread Pudding
|Bread||4 Cup (64 tbs), lightly packed into cup (4 To 5 Slices)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), packed|
|Raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Milk||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
Spread bread cubes evenly in 8-in round dish.
Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar, nutmeg, salt, then raisins.
Measure milk into 1-qt measuring cup.
Microwave at High (10) 4 Minutes, until butter is melted and milk is warm.
Rapidly stir in eggs with a fork and mix well.
Pour over bread cubes in dish.
Microwave at Medium High (7) 9 to 12 Minutes.
When cooked, center may still be slightly soft but it will set up as pudding cools.
Serve warm or chilled.
