Steamed Strawberry Pudding
|Beverage mix||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Strawberry Flavored)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Almond extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sifted cake flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Frozen sliced strawberries||20 Ounce (2 Packages, 10 Ounce Each)|
Cream shortening, beverage mix, and 1/2 cup sugar until light.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating until smooth.
Beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add remaining sugar, continuing to beat until stiff.
Fold into first mixture.
Fill 7 or 8 greased 6-ounce custard cups or other individual molds two-thirds full of batter.
Cover top of each loosely with wax paper; tie on firmly with cord.
Put on rack in large kettle or skillet containing 1 inch of boiling water.
Cover and steam for 30 minutes.
Turn out and serve warm with berries.
