Bread And Butter Pudding With Dates

Ingredients
  Butter 2 Ounce, softened (60 Gram)
  Day old white bread slice 10 , crusts removed
  Eggs 4
  Caster sugar 4 Ounce (125 Gram)
  Finely grated lemon rind 2 Tablespoon
  Double cream 10 Fluid Ounce (300 Milliliter)
  Milk 10 Fluid Ounce (300 Milliliter)
  Ground cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Pitted dates 5 Ounce, chopped (155 Grams)
Directions

1. Preheat oven to 170°C (325°F/ Gas 3). Butter bread generously; cut it into 4 cm (1 1/2 in) squares.
2. Beat eggs with sugar until thick. Stir in lemon rind, cream, milk and cinnamon. Add bread and dates, mix well and soak for 30 minutes. Pour mixture into a greased ovenproof dish and bake for 1-1 1/4 hours.
