Bread And Butter Pudding With Dates
|Butter||2 Ounce, softened (60 Gram)|
|Day old white bread slice||10 , crusts removed|
|Caster sugar||4 Ounce (125 Gram)|
|Finely grated lemon rind||2 Tablespoon|
|Double cream||10 Fluid Ounce (300 Milliliter)|
|Milk||10 Fluid Ounce (300 Milliliter)|
|Ground cinnamon||1 Teaspoon|
|Pitted dates||5 Ounce, chopped (155 Grams)|
1. Preheat oven to 170°C (325°F/ Gas 3). Butter bread generously; cut it into 4 cm (1 1/2 in) squares.
2. Beat eggs with sugar until thick. Stir in lemon rind, cream, milk and cinnamon. Add bread and dates, mix well and soak for 30 minutes. Pour mixture into a greased ovenproof dish and bake for 1-1 1/4 hours.
