Shahedwala Bread Pudding
|Bread slice||6 , crusts removed|
|Raisins and candied fruit||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Honey||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vanilla essence||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Eggs||4 , well beaten|
Turn bread into rough crumbs.
Add raisins and candied fruit.
Mix in 2 tbsp honey.
Add remaining honey and vanilla essence to the beaten eggs and add milk gently.
Whisk well and pour over breadcrumbs in a bowl.
See that the crumbs are covered fully.
Place pudding bowl in a pan of water and bake in a moderate oven for 40 minutes, or till golden and done.
Serve at room temperature with custard, if desired.
