Sweet Ginger Pudding
|Butter||2 Ounce (50 Gram)|
|Golden syrup||30 Milliliter (2 Tablespoon)|
|Ground ginger||5 Milliliter (1 Teaspoon)|
|Soda bicarbonate||2 1⁄2 Milliliter (1 Teaspoon)|
|Tepid milk||3 Fluid Ounce (75 Milliliter)|
|Self-raising flour||4 Ounce, sifted (1225 Gram)|
Beat the butter, syrup and ginger together until fluffy.
Dissolve the soda in the milk, then beat into the mixture.
Stir in the flour and salt and mix well.
Spoon into a well-greased heatproof basin.
Cover the basin, put it into a large pan half-filled with hot water and steam over low heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until a knife inserted into the centre of the pudding comes out clean.
