Steamed Date Pudding

Ingredients
  Hot water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Date bar mix 14 Ounce (1 Package)
  Eggs 2
  Finely chopped nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Mace 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Hard sauce 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Grease well a 3-cup oven-proof glass bowl.
Stir together water and date filling.
Mix in crumbly mix, eggs, nuts, mace, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Pour into bowl.
Cover with aluminum foil.
Place rack in saucepan and pour boiling water into pan up to level of rack.
Place bowl or pudding on rack.
Cover saucepan.
Keep water boiling over low heat to steam pudding 2 hours.
Remove foil and let pudding stand about 5 minutes before removing from bowl.
Cut into wedges; serve warm with Hard Sauce.
