|Canned unsweetened pear halves||16 Ounce (Undrained, 1 Can)|
|All purpose flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Water||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Vegetable cooking spray||1|
|Fine dry breadcrumbs||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Tablespoon|
Drain pears, reserving 3/4 cup liquid.
Mash pears, and press between paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Melt margarine in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Gradually stir in flour.
Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
Combine reserved liquid and water gradually add to flour mixture.
Cook, stirring constantly, until Thickened and smooth.
Stir in vanilla, salt, nutmeg, and pears.
Pour mixture into a 1 quart baking dish that has been coated with cooking spray.
Combine bread crumbs and sugar; sprinkle over pears.
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes
