Apple Cottage Pudding
|All purpose flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Pound, melted (1/2 Cup)|
|Chopped tart apple/Fresh cranberries / frozen cranberries||2 Cup (32 tbs), rinsed (Green Apples)|
|Lemon sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
Add egg, milk, and butter and whisk together to blend smoothly.
Stir in apple.
Pour batter into a buttered shallow 2-quart baking dish.
Bake in a 400° oven until well browned, about 35 minutes.
Spoon warm or cool pudding into bowls and top with the lemon sauce.
