Mixed Fruit Pudding

Ingredients
  Raisins 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Currants 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Peel 1 Tablespoon, candied
  Vegetable shortening 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Rising flour 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Breadcrumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Mixed spice 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Milk 4 Tablespoon
Directions

Grease a 4 cups pudding steamer.
Mix the dried fruit and peel in a large bowl, and add the vegetable shortening.
Add the flour, breadcrumbs, spices and sugar and mix well.
Beat the egg and milk together and add to the dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly.
Press the mixture into the steamer, cover with greaseproof paper and foil, then steam for 3-4 hours.
