|Lemon sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)|
In mixing bowl cream shortening and sugar; add egg and lemon extract.
Stir together thoroughly flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating after each addition.
Spoon into lightly greased and floured 9x9x2-inch baking pan.
Bake at350°till done,40to45 minutes.
