Ingredients
  Currants 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Raisins 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Figs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Dates 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Citron peel 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Orange peel 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Ground suet 3⁄4 Pound (2 Cup)
  Day old bread loaf 1⁄4 , plucked fine by hand
  Salt 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cinnamon 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Scalded milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), firmly packed
  Eggs 4
  Red wine 2 Tablespoon
  Brandy 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Cut up fruits; add crumbled bread, salt, spices, scalded milk and sugar.
Beat eggs until light and add fruits, suet, wine, brandy, etc.
Steam in pudding dishes, water 2/3 up on puddings for 5 hours.
Reheat in same manner 1 hour only Christmas day.
