Cheddar And Rye Bread Pudding
|Rye bread slices with caraway seeds||4 , cut into 1 -inch cubes|
|Shredded low fat cheddar cheese||6 Ounce (1 1/2 Cups)|
|Skim milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Green onion with tops||3 , chopped|
|Egg whites||2 Large|
|Dijon mustard||1 Tablespoon|
|Ground red pepper/Cayenne to taste||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
1 Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Grease a 1 1/2 quart bakingdish.
In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, cheese, milk, green onions, eggs, egg whites, mustard, and red pepper.
2 Pour the mixture into the baking dish, cover, and place in a larger baking dish or pan; add enough hot water to come halfway up the sides.
Bake for 45 minutes, then un-coverand bake 30 minutes longer or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
