Ginger Pudding

Ingredients
  Plain flour 1⁄2 Pound
  Ground ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Soda bicarbonate 1 Teaspoon (Leveled)
  Treacle 1 Tablespoon
  Egg 1
  Finely shredded suet 4 Ounce
  Caster sugar 3 Ounce
  Milk 2 Tablespoon (As Required)
Directions

Sift flour, ginger and soda into a bowl, and add the sugar and shredded suet.
Stir in the beaten egg and treacle, adding enough milk to make a soft mixture which will drop from a spoon.
Put into a well greased 2 pint basin.
Cover with foil or greaseproof paper and steam for 2 hours.
The addition of a little chopped stem ginger adds a nice piquancy to this pudding.
Hot apple sauce is good with this, or Syrup Sauce.
