Brown Betty Pudding
|Sliced apples||4 Cup (64 tbs), pared (4 Medium Apples)|
|Bread cubes||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Hot water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Butter a 1 1/4 quart baking dish.
Arrange a layer of apples on bottom.
Top with half of the bread cubes and half of the brown sugar.
Add a layer of apples, the remaining bread, and apples.
Top with remaining brown sugar, sprinkle with cinnamon, and dot with butter.
Pour in the water.
Cover and bake at 350Â°F about 30 minutes.
Uncover and bake about 10 minutes, or until pudding is browned on top.
