Toasty Prune Betty
|Toasted bread cubes||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Cooked prunes||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), sliced|
|Chopped cooking apples||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Prune liquid||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Water||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Place half of toasted bread cubes in buttered casserole or pan (about 1 1/2 quart size), add prunes in a layer, apples, thenremaining bread cubes.
Combine liquids, sugar, salt, cinnamon and butter and boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
Pour over bread cubes.
Bake covered in moderate oven (375°F.) about 1 hour.
