Most of us tend to serve fresh fruits with custard or ice cream, which though has its own charm but not imaginative. Perhaps we should give fresh fruits an oriental touch to make the dessert more innovative. Like, Thai desserts use lots of fresh fruits such as mangoes, bananas and oranges, usually cooked with coconut or teamed with a coconut based sauce. Thai-style bananas are cooked in a wonderful blend of ginger and orange rind and served warm with the inevitable coconut. Its well known that serving fresh fruits is a great alternative to a rich dessert after a heavy meal but if it is used innovatively in various recipes then it adds interest, otherwise a simple dessert and here is a scrumptious end to any meal!
