Making corn chowder is an easy affair! Thanks to my neighbor who taught me how to make corn chowder. This yummy corn chowder recipe will knockout anyone who eats it. Here’s how to make corn chowder How To Make Corn Chowder
Things required for making corn chowder
3 tbsp. butter
Sauce pan
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 onion
2 stalks celery
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup cream
2 cups chicken broth
2 jalapeño peppers
How To Make Corn Chowder
Step 1: Put the butter into a sauce pan, let it melt. When the butter melts, add the flour, salt and pepper. Stir over medium heat until fully melted. Cook until the mix is a thick, off-white color.
Step 2: Peel the onions. Cut the onions and celery stalks.
Step 3: Next, put in milk, cream, broth, peppers, corn, onion and celery to the butter mixture.
Step 4: Let the soup simmer for 15 minutes. Then, remove it from heat.
Step 5: Cover the corn soup and let it stand for several hours until it is thick and creamy.
Step 6: Reheat the soup over medium heat before serving. Sprinkle shredded cheese and parsley on top to garnish the soup. You can experiment with other or additional ingredients for garnishing.
For a more hearty soup, add 1/2 lb. of chopped chicken or ham to the corn chowder.
