Sweet And Sour Prawns (Shrimp)
|Shrimp||1⁄2 Pound, peeled|
|Peanut oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Canned pineapple chunks||1⁄2 Pound|
|Soy sauce||1 Tablespoon|
|Vinegar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Place the prawns (shrimp) in a bowl with the sherry and seasonings and marinate for 1 hour.
Slice the onion and cut the pepper into wedges.
Put the oil in a small saucepan, add the vegetables, and fry gently until softened.
Add the pineapple.
Mix together the cornflour (cornstarch), soy sauce, vinegar and sugar and add these to the saucepan.
Bring to the boil, stirring constantly, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Add the prawns (shrimp) and sherry and reheat.
