|Evaporated milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Pecan halves||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
Dissolve 1 cup sugar in skillet over low heat, stirring constantly.
Place remaining sugar, milk and salt in heavy kettle; bring to a boil.
Add dis- solved sugar.
Cook to soft-ball stage.
Remove from heat; beat well.
Drop from spoon onto waxed paper.
Pralines may be flattened or left in mounds.
