Vanilla Pecan Pralines

Ingredients
  Sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  White corn syrup 1 Tablespoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pecans 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
Directions

1. Combine sugar, milk, syrup, and baking soda in a heavy-bottomed pan. Cook slowly until the mixture reaches 235° on a candy thermometer and forms a soft ball, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat.
2. Add butter, vanilla, and pecans to hot mixture, and beat until smooth and creamy with a wooden spoon.
3. Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper.
