|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Fresh coconut||1 Cup (16 tbs), grated|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Mix sugar with water, let stand until sugar is partly dissolved.
Place in saucepan over low flame; let gradually simmer and boil until syrup is slightly thickened.
Add coconut; let boil until all forms soft ball in cold water.
Remove, and drop by spoonfuls on buttered surface.
