Monte Cristo Bites

  White bread slices/Other white bread 4 (Home Style)
  Sliced ham 3 Ounce
  Gruyere cheese/Swiss cheese 4 Ounce, sliced
  Sliced cooked white meat 3 Ounce (Of Turkey / Chicken)
  Egg 1
  Milk 2 Tablespoon
  Fresh breadcrumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Freshly grated parmesan cheese 2 Tablespoon
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon

Stack bread slices; trim crust, making straight sides.
Place 1 bread slice on a board.
Cover with half the ham and 1/3 of the cheese.
Place another bread slice on top.
Cover with half the turkey, 1/3 of the cheese and remaining ham, in layers.
Top with another slice of bread.
Cover with remaining turkey and cheese.
Place remaining bread slice on top.
Cut sandwich in 1-inch strips.
Cut each strip in 1-inch squares.
Insert a wooden pick or short bamboo skewer through the stack in the middle of each square.
Beat egg and milk in a pie plate until blended.
Toss breadcrumbs and cheese together; spread on waxed paper.
Dip each skewered sandwich cube in egg mixture, coating all sides.
Roll sandwiches in crumb mixture.
Heat butter or margarine and oil in a skillet.
Fry sandwiches in skillet until lightly browned on all sides.
