Texas-Style Game Hens
|Apple jelly||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Catsup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chili powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cornish hens||1 1⁄4 Pound, split|
Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan; stir well.
Cook over medium heat until jelly melts, stirring constantly.
Remove sauce from heat; keep warm.
Combine salt, garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, stirring well; sprinkle over Cornish hens.
Grill over medium coals 45 minutes; turn occasionally.
Baste with sauce.
Grill an additional 15 minutes.
Turn and baste frequently with remaining sauce.
Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.
