Boil some potatoes in salted water until they are just cooked but still a little hard.
Then peel them, and cut them lengthways.
Just brown them lightly on both sides, under the grill.
Potatoes prepared like this have a very delicate flavour.
Serve as they are, or to accompany some other dish.
They are very good, too, if tomato sauce, or melted butter, is poured over them just before serving.
