Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes
|Russet potatoes||2 Pound, peeled and cut into 2 inch pieces|
|Garlic||6 Clove (30 gm)|
|Salt||2 Teaspoon, divided|
|Cream cheese||6 Ounce (2 packages, 3 ounces each)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Warm milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1 In the Dutch oven, place the potatoes.
2 Add water just enouh to cover the potatoes along with garlic and 1 teaspoon salt.
3 Cover and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
4 Reduce the heat to medium and cook for another 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drain.
5 Return potatoes and garlic to low heat.
6 Add in cream cheese , butter, and remaining 1 teaspoon salt.
7 Mash throughly until cream cheese and butter are melted.
8 Pour in milk and continue to mash until coarse in consistency.
9 Serve warm.
