Traditional Mashed Potatoes
|Potatoes||5 Large, peeled, washed and quartered|
|Milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|White pepper||To Taste|
Place potatoes in saucepan and cover with cold water. Add salt and cover pan. Bring to boil and cook over medium heat.
When potatoes are cooked, drain water from saucepan. Leave potatoes in saucepan and cook over very low heat for 2 minutes.
Remove saucepan from heat. Force potatoes, one by one, through fine sieve into bowl.
Return pureed potatoes to saucepan. Add butter and hot milk. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix well and serve.
