Potato Cheese And Onion Pie

Ingredients
  Sliced onion 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Condensed cream of mushroom soup 10 1⁄2 Ounce (1 can)
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Dried sage 1 Pinch
  Potatoes 6 Medium, cooked and sliced
  Cheddar cheese 1⁄4 Pound, sliced
  Pastry 1
  Cream 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Brown onions lightly in butter; cover and cook slowly until tender.
Add soup and water; season with salt, pepper, and sage.
Arrange potatoes and half of cheese in greased 2-quart casserole.
Pour onion mixture over ingredients in casserole and top with remaining cheese.
Bake in preheated hot oven (400°F.) for 15 minutes, or until mixture is heated and cheese is lightly browned.
Top with baked pastry wedges.
Roll pastry 1/2 inch thick to form a round that fits top of casserole.
Cut into 4 wedges, and brush with cream or beaten egg yolk .
Bake on cookie sheet in oven with potatoes for 15 minutes.
