Classic Mashed Potatoes
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Soft butter/Margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Prepare and cook pared potatoes .
Gently shake pan over low heat to dry potatoes.
Mash potatoes until no lumps remain.
Add milk in small amounts, beating after each addition.
Add butter, salt and pepper; beat vigorously until potatoes are light and fluffy.
If desired, dot with butter or sprinkle with paprika, snipped parsley, watercress or chives.
