Simple French Fries

|Baking potatoes||1 Pound, peeled|
Cut potatoes lengthwise in 3/8 inch-wide strips.
Fry potatoes, a few at a time, in deep hot fat (360°) till crisp and golden, 6 to 7 minutes.
Drain on paper toweling.
Sprinkle potatoes immediately with salt.
