Garlic Mashed Potatoes
|Garlic||30 Clove (150 gm) (2 Garlic Heads)|
|Butter||45 Milliliter (3 Tablespoons)|
|Potatoes||4 Large, peeled|
|Flour||15 Milliliter (1 Tablespoon)|
|Hot milk||250 Milliliter (1 Cup)|
1 Separate the garlic cloves.
2 In a pan, cook in boiling water for 2 minutes.
3 Cool and peel.
4 In a heavy-based pan, melt butter.
5 Add in peeled garlic.
6 Cover and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes until tender but not browned.
7 Meanwhile, in a pan, cook potatoes for 20 minutes or until tender (or microwave on HIGH for 6-8 minutes).
8 Remove butter-garlic mixture from heat and stir in flour.
9 Return to the heat and cook for 1 minute.
10 Remove from the heat again and gradually stir in hot milk and pepper.
11 Bring to a boil and simmer until thickened, stirring constantly.
12 Transfer the sauce to a blender.
13 Blend until smooth.
14 Return to the pan and simmer for 2 minutes (or microwave on MEDIUM 2 minutes).
15 Drain the potatoes well.
16 In a bowl, mash the potatoes and combine with the prepared sauce.
17 Serve in individual dishes.
