|Butter||20 Milliliter (1 1/2 Tablespoons)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), crushed|
|Potatoes||4 Large, peeled and sliced|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Hot milk||750 Milliliter (3 Cups)|
|Gruyere cheese||310 Milliliter, grated (1 1/4 Cups)|
1 Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C)
2 In a bowl, combine butter and garlic.
3 Grease a casserole dish using the butter and garlic mixture.
4 Arrange sliced potatoes in the prepared casserole dish.
5 In a bowl, mix egg, milk and cheese together.
6 Pour over the potatoes.
7 Sprinkle with nutmeg.
8 Bake in the oven for 1 1/4 hours or until tender.
9 Serve hot.
