Banana Apple Porridge (Healthy Breakfast)

A healthy duet of grains like broken wheat and oats with fruits like banana and apples, this porridge is flavorsome and truly tempting. Sauteing the broken wheat and oats before cooking chases away the raw smell, while the cinnamon powder and fruits enhance the flavor and aroma further. The Banana and Apple Porridge is an ideal way to start a morning, as it not only gives a lot of energy but is also brimming with calcium, protein, fibre, etc.

Ingredients

Low fat butter 2 Teaspoon
Broken wheat 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , washed and drained
Quick cooking rolled oats 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Low fat milk 2 Cup (32 tbs) (99.7% fat
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Powdered sugar 1 Tablespoon
Cinnamon powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Sliced banana 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Cubed apple 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (unpeeled)

Directions

MAKING

1. In pressure cooker, heat butter, add broken wheat and sauté over low flame for a minute. Add oats and sauté for another 2 minutes.

2. Add milk and 1 cup of water, mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.

3. Once the steam escapes add sugar and cinnamon powder, mix well and let cool slightly.Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

FINALIZING

4. Just before serving, add the banana and apples. Mix well.

SERVING

5. Serve immediately.
