Yummy Oats and Apple Porridge (Infant- 6 Months and Above) by Tarla Dalal

This wholesome porridge made of oats, apples and milk can be served as a dessert or breakfast after your baby is 6 months. Milk is a good source of calcium, which is extremely important for the development of your baby's bones and teeth. Oats are high in energy, protein and fibre.

Ingredients

Quick cooking rolled oats 3 Tablespoon
Finely chopped apple 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , peeled and chopped
Butter 1 Teaspoon (or use ghee)
Milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (preferably cow's milk)
Grated jaggery 1 Tablespoon

Directions

MAKING

1. In a non-stick pan, heat butter and saute oats over low flame for 2 minutes or until they turn light brown in color.

2. Add milk and jaggery. Stir occasionally and cook for 2-3 minutes.

3. Stir in apple and cook over low flame for 1 more minute. Remove the pan from flame and set aside to cool slightly.

4. When cooled, blend in a mixer until smooth.

SERVING

5. Serve lukewarm.
