Wheat Berry Porridge
|Uncooked wheat berries||240 Milliliter (1 Cup)|
|Water||480 Milliliter (2 Cups)|
|Plain non-fat yogurt||240 Milliliter (1 Cup)|
|Lemon juice||60 Milliliter (1/4 Cup)|
|Unpeeled apple||1 , cored and grated|
|Bananas||2 , sliced|
|Peaches||2 , peeled, pitted and sliced|
|Grapes||480 Milliliter, halved (2 Cups)|
|Ground ginger||1⁄4 Teaspoon (1 Milliliter)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄2 Teaspoon (3 Milliliters)|
|Ground nutmeg||1 Dash (3 Milliliters)|
Cook the wheat berries in water over low heat for 4-6 hours or until the water is absorbed. (A crockpot is especially useful for this step.) Remove from heat and allow the berries to cool, then mix in the remaining ingredients and chill.
Let stand for 1/2 hour at room temperature before serving.
