Jowar and Ragi Porridge (6 to 7 Months Old Baby)

A combination of cereals like jowar and ragi will also be a good alternative for a wholesome and satisfactory porridge for your baby now that she is growing rapidly and her appetite is also increasing. It will keep her satisfied for a couple of hours. Dates are used to sweeten this porridge as they provide iron and fibre in substantial quantities.

Ingredients

Whole jowar 1/2 Tablespoon , washed and drained (white millet)
Whole ragi grain 1/2 Tablespoon , washed and drained (nachni/red millet)
Dates 2 , deseeded
Milk 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

MAKING

1. In pressure cooker, combine jowar, ragi, dates and cup of water. Pressure cook for 3 whistles. After the steam escapes, open the lid and allow the mixture to cool.

2. Once cooled, transfer the mixture into a mixer, add cup of water and milk. Blend until smooth.

3. Transfer the mixture into a pan and bring to a boil, stirring continuously.

SERVING

4. Serve lukewarm
