Spicy Plum Sauce Pork - Part 1


For sauce
Sweet onion 1/2 , chopped
Canola oil/Olive oil 1 Tablespoon
All spice 1/4 Teaspoon
Ground clove 1/4 Teaspoon
Cinnamon 1/4 Teaspoon
Ground ginger 1/4 Teaspoon
Plum 1 Pound , washed, chopped
Orange zest 1 Teaspoon
Fresh orange juice 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
For pork
Pork 2 Pound
Olive oil 2 Tablespoon
Salt and pepper To Taste
For rice
Butter 6 Tablespoon
Noodles 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Rice 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Salt To Taste
Boiling water 3 Cup (48 tbs)



1. Place a saucepan on flame, heat oil, and drop chopped onion in it. Stir and cook until tender.

2. Throw all spice, ground clove, cinnamon, and ginger in it. Mix, reduce the heat to low, and cook for a couple of minutes.

3. Add orange juice, plum, orange rind, and brown sugar. Stir, and cook for 15-20 minutes or until nice and thick.

4. Remove saucepan from heat, and puree until smooth. Pour it into a container and set aside.

5. For pork, apply olive oil on pork, and season it with salt and pepper.

6. Preheat grill to high, and place pork pieces on it. Cook for 20-30 minutes or until brown crust form.

7. Baste pork with plum sauce, and cook for another 10 minutes basting a couple of times in between.

8. Remove from grill, and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Slice pork into small pieces.

9. For rice, place a frying pan on flame, and melt butter in it.

10. Add noodles, stir to coat, and cook for 3 minutes or until lightly browned.

11. Add rice, stir and cook for additional 1 minute.

12. Pour boiling water, and add salt to it. Give it a quick stir. Cover with lid, reduce the heat and allow it to cook for 20 minutes or until done.


13. Pour plum sauce over grilled pork, and serve it hot with romanian rice and boiled beans.


If you do not have an indoor grill then you can pop pork into the oven, bake for 20 minutes and then carry on with the basting process in oven.

You can use chicken or beef broth instead of water.
