Oven Barbecued Pork Chops
|Pork loin chops||4 , cut 1 1/2 inches thick|
|Lemon slices||4 (1/4 Inch Thick)|
|Onion slices||4 Large (Use 1/4 Inch Thick Center Pieces)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), firmly packed|
|Catsup||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Brown chops in a frying pan, arrange in a 9-inch square baking dish or casserole, and season with salt and pepper.
Top each chop with a slice of lemon and a slice of onion.
Mix together brown sugar and catsup and pour over the meat—be sure the top of each piece is coated with sauce.
Cover and bake in a moderately slow oven (325°) for 1 hour, basting occasionally.
Remove cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes, basting frequently.
Makes 4 servings.
