Sweet And Sour Pork With Chestnuts
|Pork||1 1⁄2 Pound, cut into 1-in. cubes|
|Instant minced onion||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Soy sauce||1 Tablespoon|
|Brown bouquet sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Canned pineapple chunks||8 3⁄4 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cider vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Packed)|
|Canned water chestnuts||5 Ounce, drained and sliced (1 Can)|
|Green pepper||1 Medium, sliced|
|Tomato||1 Medium, cut in to chunks|
In 2-qt casserole place pork, onion, soy sauce and bouquet sauce.
Reserving juice, drain pineapple.
Add reserved juice to meat, stirring well.
Microwave at Medium (5) 30 Minutes, stirring after 15 minutes.
In small bowl stir together water, vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Add to meat along with pineapple and water chestnuts.
Microwave at Medium High (7) 15 to 20 Minutes, stirring and adding green pepper after 8 minutes, until thickened and clear.
Fold in tomato chunks and let stand, covered, 10 minutes before serving.
Serve over rice or crisp noodles.
