Val D Or Pate En Croute
|All purpose flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Butter||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Cold water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
PASTRY: Mix flour and salt in a mixing bowl and cut in the butter with a pastry blender or two knives until butter is about the size of green peas.
Beat egg yolks with the cold water and pour over the mixture.
Stir with a knife or fork adding a little extra cold water if needed.
When pastry can be formed into a ball, knead it on a board to give it more body.
Cover and let stand for at least two hours.
Roll out to about 1/4 inch thick and set in a deep 8-cup loaf pan or oven-ware casserole.
